Orchestrate your mainframe access with
Mainframe Access Service REP++sna™, our mainframe access service, allows you to execute mainframe applications and retrieve data from the mainframe (such as CICS®). Applications that use REP++ allow transparent exchange of data and can launch mainframe applications. REP++sna lets you:
The execution of a CICS transaction is performed as follows:
Data exchange between the REP++ application and the CICS transaction is achieved through data structures that are defined in the repository. This approach provides the same advantages as with any other REP++ application that has access to a relational DBMS (automation of data conversion and validation, documentation, etc.) The exchange between the data structures and the CICS transactions is made possible through a data dictionary that is created at installation time and adapted to your central data dictionary. This new data dictionary is then stored on the mainframe and ensures a perfect synchronization between your dictionary and the REP++ repository. Comparison and synchronization utilities between the dictionary and the repository are provided. If there is no dictionary on your mainframe, you can still take advantage of our REP++sna, provided you specify and maintain the data structures formats manually when calling CICS transactions. REP++sna benefits you in several ways:
REP++sna creates an abstraction layer and thus integrates perfectly and seamlessly to the access and data management procedures of REP++. These are some of the benefits that
